Logan Harderson

Logan Harderson joined The Roop Law Firm as an Associate Attorney in November 2025. A proud Arkansas native, Logan brings a strong background in criminal defense,
nonprofit law, and legal research to the firm’s growing practice.

Logan earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2025. During law school, he served as a Student Attorney with the Community, Rural, Enterprise, and Development Legal Clinic, where he led clients through the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and provided strategic guidance on compliance with IRS standards. He also gained courtroom and case preparation experience as a Rule 15 Student Attorney at Liberty-Ellington Law and Mediation PLLC, assisting in criminal defense matters and client communications.

Before law school, Logan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of the Ozarks, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in American Studies and Psychology. His early work experience includes positions in university administration, legal internships in Washington, D.C., and leadership roles in civic organizations, reflecting a deep commitment to community engagement and public service.

Logan is passionate about legal advocacy, client communication, and strategic case development. In law school, he excelled in Trial Advocacy, where his team earned top honors for criminal defense litigation.

Outside of the office, Logan enjoys spending time in the Arkansas outdoors, staying engaged in local civic initiatives, and continuing to expand his legal expertise.

Meredith Smith

Meredith Smith, a seasoned legal assistant at The Roop Law Firm, brings a unique blend of administrative and legal expertise to her role. Formerly a personnel and payroll manager, Meredith’s transition to the legal field reflects her passion for expanding her professional horizons. Her exceptional interpersonal skills and rapid learning abilities have quickly made her an invaluable asset to the firm.

Outside of work, Meredith is actively involved in the Fort Smith community, volunteering with the Fort Smith Little Theatre alongside her husband, Coleman. Serving on the Board of Directors as the Social Media Manager, she contributes significantly to the theater’s growth and outreach.

Nathan Roop

With over a decade of experience, Nathan Roop is a seasoned attorney with a diverse background in both criminal and civil law. Before entering private practice, he served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Sebastian and Franklin Counties in Arkansas, where he developed a deep understanding of the criminal justice system. During this time, he successfully handled a wide range of felony and misdemeanor cases, including trials and motions. This experience as a prosecutor gave him an invaluable perspective that he now brings to his private practice.

In addition to his criminal law background, Nathan is highly experienced in various other legal areas. He has successfully litigated jury trials, bench trials, contested and uncontested divorces. His practice also includes handling custody and support cases, guardianships, and estate planning.

When he’s not working, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, traveling, camping, listening to music, and cheering on the Razorbacks.

Mercedes is our friendly and professional receptionist at The Roop Law Firm. With a warm smile and a helpful demeanor, she ensures a positive first impression for all who visit.

Mercedes is responsible for greeting clients, answering phones, and managing the front office. Her strong organizational skills and attention to detail contribute to a smooth and efficient operation. She is dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel comfortable and valued.

When she is not in the office, Mercedes is spending time with her two children and enjoys calling the Hogs!

Haley Roop

Haley Roop is the Office Manager at The Roop Law Firm. Haley works behind the scenes to support the firm’s human resources, financial and marketing aspects. Haley holds a Bachelor of Organizational Leadership from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith and earned a Minor in Human Resources. She also volunteers with several non-profit organizations in our community and is an asset in ensuring our clients are taken care of within the firm.

In her spare time, Haley enjoys spending time with her husband, Nathan and three children, going to Razorback games, and going to Disney.
